Shutdown of RTA’s paratransit service averted

But most users will be hit with higher fares as a result. This fall, disabled riders in Chicago who now pay $2.25 per ride and users in the collar counties who pay $2.50 will see fares rise to $3, matching the amount already paid by disabled riders in suburban Cook and DuPage Counties….
